Semiconductor Manufacturing and Advanced Research with Twins USA Institute

SMART USA advances America’s semiconductor manufacturing through digital twin technology. As a CHIPS Act-funded Manufacturing USA institute, the SMART USA Institute unites industry, academia, and laboratories across 30+ states to create virtual manufacturing replicas that reduce development and manufacturing costs by 40%, cut process development cycle time by 35%, and improve yields by 40%. Operated by the SRC Manufacturing Consortium Corporation, SMART USA operates through seven DISCs—regional innovation hubs—while building a national digital platform for model interoperability and secure knowledge sharing. Through workforce initiatives, the institute aims to train 110,000 workers over five years, strengthening America’s economic and national security in this critical industry.
